- Today at 10:38:19 AMMy take: This is the most adult Gundam has felt since Unicorn. The animation by Sunrise is just absurd — the night battle in the first 20 minutes has no music, just beam rifle echoes and rain, and it's more tense than any big space laser fight. It's slow, political, and Hathaway is a genuinely unpleasant protagonist, which is the point. If you want fun robot punching, you'll be bored. If you want a story about how the idealism of the last war rots into terrorism, it's fantastic.
