The Last Deduction — My Dramatic Fan Prediction for the Ending of Detective Conan

Detective Conan has spent decades building one of the most fascinating mysteries in anime and manga. What began as the story of Shinichi Kudo, a brilliant high-school detective who was transformed into a child, gradually became a complicated battle involving the Black Organization, the secrets of APTX 4869, hidden identities, and a growing number of people who have become connected to Conan's life.

As a fan, I imagine the dramatic ending beginning with a mystery that appears impossible to solve. The Black Organization would launch its final operation, forcing Conan Edogawa, Shuichi Akai, Rei Furuya, Ai Haibara, Ran Mouri, and the other characters to confront the consequences of everything that has happened since Shinichi's transformation.

My imagined ending would be a story about the greatest detective in the world finally solving the case that has defined his entire life.

The Final Message from the Black Organization

The final arc would begin when Conan discovers a message connected to the Black Organization's mysterious leader, Renya Karasuma.

The message would appear to be an ordinary piece of evidence from an unrelated murder case. However, Conan would recognize a pattern that connects it to the earliest days of his investigation.

The message would contain references to several previous cases, including the disappearance of important witnesses, the development of APTX 4869, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding the deaths of people connected to the organization.

Conan would initially believe that Gin is responsible.

But after consulting with Professor Agasa, Ai Haibara, and his father Yusaku Kudo, he would discover that the message was designed to attract his attention.

Someone inside the organization wants Conan to investigate.

The question would be whether this person is trying to help him or lure him into a trap.

Conan would begin investigating without telling Ran, Kogoro, or the Detective Boys. However, Haibara would recognize the danger immediately.

She would tell Conan that the organization is no longer simply interested in eliminating people who threaten its secrecy. It has become aware that someone is systematically uncovering the truth behind its history.

The final operation would involve a series of carefully coordinated events across Tokyo.

Gin would target the FBI.

Rum would attempt to eliminate the remaining witnesses connected to the organization.

Vodka would assist Gin, while Chianti and Korn would provide support from a distance.

Vermouth would secretly interfere with the operation, protecting Conan without revealing her intentions to the other members.

The FBI, CIA, and Japanese Public Security would all become involved.

Shuichi Akai would return to the center of the conflict, while Jodie Starling, James Black, and Andre Camel would coordinate the FBI's efforts.

Rei Furuya, working as Bourbon, would use his position inside the organization to obtain information.

Hidemi Hondou, known as Kir, would provide intelligence from within the organization.

The final confrontation would therefore involve several different groups, each with its own objectives.

Conan's Greatest Challenge

The dramatic ending would require Conan to face his greatest weakness.

He is brilliant at solving mysteries, but he sometimes assumes that he can control the situation through intelligence alone.

This time, he would discover that the Black Organization has anticipated many of his methods.

Gin would understand that Conan is not an ordinary child.

He would begin suspecting that the young detective possesses knowledge that could only belong to Shinichi Kudo.

Conan would realize that he can no longer remain hidden behind his child identity.

The final mystery would revolve around a series of disappearances connected to a research facility that once belonged to the Miyano family.

Ai Haibara would recognize the location from her memories of the organization.

She would reveal that the facility was involved in early research related to APTX 4869.

Conan, Haibara, and Professor Agasa would investigate the location.

There, they would discover records that explain the organization's obsession with the drug.

In my fictional version, APTX 4869 would originally have been developed as part of a medical research project involving cellular regeneration and the preservation of biological functions.

However, the organization gradually transformed the research into a dangerous project intended to extend the lives of powerful individuals.

The drug's ability to cause unexpected physical changes would become one of the most disturbing consequences of the research.

Karasuma would believe that the human body could eventually be controlled through science.

Conan would realize that the organization has spent years attempting to overcome the natural limitations of human life.

But the most important discovery would be that the drug's development was never completely successful.

Haibara would understand that the organization has been hiding its failures.

The Final Confrontation with Gin

The dramatic climax would take place in a remote research facility during a major operation involving the FBI and Japanese Public Security.

Conan would arrive with Akai, Furuya, Kir, and Haibara.

Gin would be waiting.

The confrontation would begin with Gin attempting to eliminate Conan before the other investigators can reach him.

Conan would use his detective skills to predict Gin's movements, but Gin would prove far more dangerous than any ordinary criminal.

He would understand that Conan's greatest advantage is his ability to anticipate behavior.

Therefore, Gin would deliberately create a situation in which Conan cannot determine which target is most important.

Several people would be in danger simultaneously.

Conan would have to decide whether to pursue Gin or save the people trapped inside the facility.

He would choose to save the people.

That decision would allow Gin to escape temporarily, but it would also demonstrate the difference between the two characters.

Gin sees people as obstacles.

Conan sees them as individuals whose lives matter.

Akai would eventually confront Gin in a separate battle.

Their rivalry would finally reach its conclusion.

Akai would defeat Gin through careful preparation and superior marksmanship, but he would refuse to execute him.

Instead, Akai would capture Gin and force him to face the consequences of his actions.

Gin would remain silent.

He would refuse to reveal the organization's final secrets.

However, his capture would provide Conan with the opportunity to reach Karasuma.

The Truth About Vermouth

Vermouth would play a crucial role in the final chapters.

Throughout the series, she has been one of the most mysterious members of the Black Organization. Her relationship with Conan and Ran has always suggested that her loyalty is more complicated than that of Gin or Rum.

In my imagined ending, Vermouth would finally reveal why she has repeatedly protected Conan.

She would recognize that Conan represents a possibility the organization has never been able to understand: a person who can change the world without becoming its ruler.

Vermouth would provide Conan with information about Karasuma's final operation.

However, she would refuse to surrender immediately.

She would insist that Conan must understand the consequences of destroying the organization.

Many people connected to the Black Organization would have been manipulated, threatened, or forced into criminal activity.

Vermouth would want Conan to expose the truth without treating every person connected to the organization as equally responsible.

Conan would agree.

That would become one of the most important moral decisions in the final arc.

The Last Deduction

The final mystery would lead Conan to a location connected to Karasuma's personal history.

Yusaku Kudo would assist him in analyzing the evidence.

The two detectives would eventually discover that Karasuma has been using the organization's scientific research to maintain his influence over the world.

However, the final revelation would not simply be that Karasuma wants immortality.

I would imagine that his true ambition is to create a system in which powerful individuals can preserve their identities and influence across generations.

Karasuma would believe that ordinary human life is too short for people to achieve anything meaningful.

He would therefore attempt to create a world where the powerful never have to surrender their authority.

Conan would recognize the fundamental flaw in this ambition.

Karasuma has spent his life trying to control the future because he cannot accept that human existence is temporary.

Conan, meanwhile, has learned that the value of life comes partly from its uncertainty.

The final confrontation would take place in a research facility where Karasuma attempts to activate the last stage of his project.

Conan would expose the truth.

Karasuma would attempt to escape.

But the evidence gathered by Conan, Akai, Furuya, Haibara, and the other investigators would finally bring the organization down.

The Black Organization would lose its leadership, resources, and ability to operate as a secret criminal network.

Gin would be arrested.

Rum would face prosecution.

Chianti, Korn, and Vodka would be captured.

Kir and Bourbon would reveal their identities to the appropriate authorities.

Vermouth would disappear after helping Conan, leaving her ultimate fate uncertain.

The organization would collapse.

Shinichi Kudo Returns

After the final operation, Haibara would finally complete a permanent antidote to APTX 4869.

She would not treat the achievement as a miracle.

It would be the result of years of research, difficult decisions, and the knowledge she gained while working with the organization.

Conan would take the antidote.

For the first time since the beginning of the story, Shinichi Kudo would return permanently.

He would no longer need to hide his identity.

He would no longer have to rely on Professor Agasa's inventions to communicate with the people he loves.

He would finally be able to return to his normal life.

But his return would not immediately solve every personal problem.

Ran would have to process the truth about Conan.

Kogoro would discover that the child who helped him solve countless cases was actually Shinichi.

The Detective Boys would learn that their friend had been living a secret life.

Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta would be shocked.

However, they would eventually understand that Conan had been protecting them.

The final scene of the dramatic version would show Shinichi standing beside Ran.

He would tell her everything.

Ran would listen quietly.

Then she would smile and ask him whether he intends to disappear again.

Shinichi would promise that he will not.

The final panel would show the two of them walking together, finally able to live without the shadow of the Black Organization.

The greatest detective would have solved the greatest mystery of his life.

And for the first time, he would no longer need to hide behind another name.
